What Services Does the TRT Cover?

The Transition Readiness Toolkit (TRT) is a software solution that specifically caters to the five core pre-employment transition services (Pre-ETS). Pre-ETS are aimed at preparing students with disabilities for successful employment or postsecondary education after high school. The TRT covers the following core Pre-ETS services:

  • Job Exploration Counseling: Providing information about different career options, job duties, and workplace expectations.
  • Work-Based Learning Experiences: Offering opportunities to gain practical skills and knowledge in a workplace setting through internships, apprenticeships, or on-the-job training.
  • Counseling on Postsecondary Education: Guidance and information on accessing and navigating postsecondary education or training programs, including application processes and financial aid.
  • Workplace Readiness Training: Equipping students with skills necessary for workplace success, including soft skills, communication, problem-solving, and professionalism.
  • Self-Advocacy Training: Teaching students how to articulate their needs, rights, and goals effectively, fostering independence and self-empowerment.

The TRT provides assessments, reports, and visualizations that align with these five core Pre-ETS services, allowing service providers to evaluate and tailor services based on students' individual needs and progress in each area. Using the TRT can help providers and administrators identify student needs and strengths; best practices areas for improvement; and overall progress towards achieving a successful transition.
